Expo Cruises and Tours was created in 1999, celebrating our 20th year in the travel business.
Our goal is to be a leader in organizing destination focused cruises and land tours throughout the world. By using various cruise lines, ranging from ultra-luxury to mainstream cruise lines, from big ships to small intimate vessels including expedition style ships, the main purpose was and still is to show you the amazing sights and places of interest that exist in this wonderful world. We travel to worldwide destinations that include Europe, Africa, Australia, Antarctica, Asia, South America, and the Canadian Arctic as well as European river cruises. We align ourselves with suppliers who offer quality partnerships, to deliver value added tours, first class hotels, combined with excellent service and inclusion of gratuities for the local guides and drivers on our own exclusive land tours. Expo Cruises and Tours hosts come from a variety of backgrounds and enable our clients to enjoy memorable vacation experiences. A loyalty discount of up to $500 per person is applied for our repeat clients who have travelled with Expo Cruises and Tours in the past. Terms and Conditions
2 – Our land/tour packages include round trip airfare from Toronto, for departures from other Canadian departure cities are available upon request. It also includes transfers from airport to pier and/or hotel, all your gratuities for local guides, drivers, and shipboard gratuities, where applicable including all departure/port taxes. First class hotel stays (4-star equivalent or better) are included where stated in our detailed itineraries. Please note on cruise itineraries for all ports visited that shore excursions are optional and are booked and payable directly with the cruise line unless stated otherwise in our brochure. Our advertised land tours and cruise/tours are fully escorted from Toronto by one of our hosts. Generally, a minimum number of 15 or more is required on our custom land tours and minimum of 20 or more participants is required on our cruise/tours to have an escort/host accompany the group. If the number of participants falls below this required minimum, you will still be provided with the package and will be hosted by a local host/guide. For your benefit, the price of your package with all the inclusions will be protected for you at our original group pricing.
3 – All our land and cruise/tour packages are put together for the fit travellers that have no limitations while participating on organized tours. You must be able to do a fair amount of walking on uneven paths, and negotiate stairs, as well as handle your own luggage at the airports. We will be happy to answer your questions prior to booking one of our packages.
4 – Group airfare when it is part of your package, is based on very strict conditions imposed by the airlines involved. Please note that no seat pre-assignments are allowed on a group block basis prior to your departure. Seats can only be requested at time of airport check-in without a fee, or in some rare cases by calling directly the airline within 24-hours of your departure. Unfortunately, this is totally beyond Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. control. In case you have any air deviations requests, please consult one of our agents. Requests for upgrades to “premium economy” where available or to “business class” flights should be received at the time of booking. Changes to your flight arrangements cannot be made after your final payment is made or once airline tickets have been issued. Once airline tickets have been paid in full and issued NO changes can be made as they become non-refundable, regardless how far in advance they may have been issued. Currently, many airlines impose extra charges and fees for checked baggage. These fees vary from airline
to airline and are subject to change without notice. You may purchase our land & cruise only and arrange your own flights independently to accommodate airline, routings or advance seating of your own preference. We would be pleased to advise and extend air and transfer credit value included in our package applicable to your booking. Note when air is removed from your booking, your arrival and departure transfers, airport to hotel or pier and airport will be also forfeited.
5 – Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. strongly recommends Travel Insurance coverage for out of country medical, trip cancellation and interruption, baggage, flight delay, due to weather, mechanical, etc. allowing you to travel with peace of mind. All insurance premiums must be issued prior to final payments and are non-refundable after it has been issued. A signed Release of Liability form will be required for the booking, for all those who decline travel insurance offered by Travel Insurance Professional Services (TIPS).
6 – Please be advised that your Passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon the return from your trip and have at least 3 – 4 full blank pages in for any visas entry/exit stamps while travelling. Each person is responsible to obtain any required entry visas and any necessary health vaccinations for countries visited, prior to your departure from Canada.
7 – Final documentation will be sent to you approximately 2 – 3 weeks prior to your departure.
8 – Cancellation fees depend on the tour that you book. A $100 per person administration fee is charged on all independent bookings made and then cancelled prior to the final payment. A $200 per person non-refundable fee will be charged on all our cruise/tours with airfare that are cancelled prior to final payment. A $500 per person non-refundable fee will be charged on all river cruise/tour reservations that are cancelled prior to final payment. From time to time higher penalties are applicable for our special land, sea and train journeys but these fees will be detailed on your confirmation and be advised at the time of booking. In most cases final penalties for our land packages and cruise/tours are as follows: after final payment is made: 125 to 91 days prior to departure 25% penalties will apply, 90 to 76 days 35% penalties will apply, 75 to 60 days 60% penalties will apply, 59 to 46 days 75% penalties will apply, within 45 days or less prior to your departure 100% penalty applies with no refund.
9 – Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our office is closed during the Statutory Holidays. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express*, cash and cheques, made payable to “Expo Cruises and Tours Inc.” Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. is registered with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), registration number is 50012993 and is part of the travel consumer compensation fund and we are also a member of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
Responsibility (Important, please read this carefully):
Expo Cruises and Tours Inc. at 413 Dundas Street East, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 2A9 Canada (hereinafter expressed as the Company), gives notice that all tickets and coupons issued by the Company and all arrangements for transport or conveyance or hotel accommodation are made by the Company as agent upon the expressed condition that the Company shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or by defect in any vehicle, or through the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour(s), or otherwise in connection therewith or of any hotel proprietor or servant. The Company and/or associated companies accept no responsibility for any losses, additional expense, distress, disappointments or frustrations, whether physical or mental, resulting from delays due to mechanical breakdowns, changes in flight, train, ship or other services, passengers’ failure to obtain necessary tourist visa(s), government refusal to issue you a visa, your health problems or your disabilities existing prior to, arising during or as a result of your travel, weather, strikes, political unrests, quarantine or other causes or acts of God. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected by alteration of the cruise ship, air or railroad service of the various countries and by other causes. The right is reserved for the Company to withdraw any tour announced in this program, substitute hotels, and to make such alterations in the itineraries as may be found necessary for the convenience of the parties and the proper execution of the tour(s). Such right is also reserved to decline, to accept or to expel any person as a member of any cruise or tour at any time whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the cruise/tour group without any refunds. The Company also reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure. In such case, full refund of all payments will constitute full settlement with the passenger. The passengers’ contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and purchaser of these tours and/or passenger. Any and/or all transportation companies herein mentioned shall have or incur no responsibility or liability to any travellers aside from their liability as common carriers. The Company’s associated parties reserve the right to make alterations or adjustments to the arrangements as may be necessary. Your reservation with us confirms that you have read, understood, and agreed to each and all of the above conditions and limits on responsibility.
