Weclome to Venice!  Upon arrival, meet our guide and be transfered by a private coach to the hotel, please note standard chotel chek in time is 3 pm.  This evening enjoy a welcome dinner in a local restaurant.    Accommodation: HOTEL MONACO or similar (2 nights).

Day 3 – Saturday/ September 19, 2020                  VENICE, ITALY                                                                                    (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.  Enjoy a guided walking tour of Venice.  Visit the landmarks and historical sites of the city centre (exteriors only): St. Mark’s Square and its monuments, S. Maria Formosa, the Church and Campo of S.S. Giovannie Paolo, Marco Polo’s house, Teatro Malibran, and the famous Mercerie.  Free time for lunch on your own.  In the afternoon your you will be taken to the embarkation point for your 30 minute gondola ride.  Take a gondola ride along the most suggestive canals of Venice and part of the Grand Canal to discover its charming aspects.  In the evening, dinner will be at a local restaurant nearby the hotel.

Day 4 – Sunday / September 20, 2020                     VENICE – EMBARKATION                                                               (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel follwed by check-out.  Enjoy a half-day excursion by boat to the Lagoon to visit the islands of Murano and Burano.  A unique experience which will lead you to the historic, artistic and popular heart of the northern part of the Venetian Lagoon.  From the boat you can take some breathtaking pictures of the Lagoon and its several islands.  You will visit MURANO and BURANO which are the traditional destinations among the islands.  Return to Venice Island and then transfer to the pier to embark on you cruise aboard the Norwegian Dawn, your home away from home for next 8 days while exploring the beautiful Adriatic coast and the Greek Isles.

Day 5 – Monday / September 21, 2020 KOTOR, MONTENEGRO                                                                                (B/L/D)
Tucked away between the mountains and the Bay of Kotor, one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea, is where you’ll find the picturesque town of Kotor. As you arrive at this secluded city, you’ll notice the dramatic 65-foot high protective walls, which date back to the Venetian period during the 9th century. Stroll the labyrinth of cobbled streets with cozy cafes and craft shops as you marvel at the graceful old buildings. Listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Historical Heritage Site, Kotor is also world-famous as a premier yachting and sailing destination.

Day 6 – Tuesday / September 22, 2020 CORFU, GREECE                                                                                                (B/L/D)
One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.

Day 7 – Wednesday / September 23, 2020           SANTORINI, GREECE                                                                       (B/L/D)
Whitewashed villages clinging to the sides of the sea cliffs have made the volcanic island of Santorini one of the most widely photographed places in the world. The island’s charm and subtle mystery have even made it a target of speculation as the location of the lost city of Atlantis.

Day 8 – Thursday / September 24, 2020                MYKONOS, GREECE                                                                        (B/L/D)
Mykonos is a classic Greek Island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and windmills. Add a reputation for beautiful beaches and you’ll understand why Mykonos is the most popular island in the Cyclades. Explore the island in a 4 x 4 or take a ferry to the tiny island of Delos.

Day 9 – Friday / September 25, 2020                      ARGOSTOLI, KEFALONIA, GREECE                                             (B/L/D)
Looking at picturesque Argostoli, you wouldn’t know it suffered a devastating earthquake in 1953. The city and its surrounding area are full of treasures, including a 12th-century Byzantine cathedral and beautiful 16th century frescoes. The nearby underground Lake of Melissani is simply magical.  Enter the caves to find ancient stalactites, and marvel at the scattered rays of light beaming through, turning the water an intense blue.

Day 10 – Saturday / September 26, 2020              SPLIT, CROATIA                                                                                 (B/L/D)
This Mediterranean city on the eastern shores of the Adriatic has a long and eventful history dating back to the awesome Diocletian’s Palace (circa 295 A.D.) in the centre of the city. Split offers cruise guests a wealth of exciting places to visit, from the majestic cathedral and marble streets in the centre of town to the harbour area with its cafe-lined promenades and views of coastal mountains.

Day 11 – Sunday / September 27, 2020                 VENICE – DISEMBARKATION – TUSCANY, ITALY                 (B/D)
Breakfast on board the ship, followed by disembarkation and start your journey to the Emilia Romagna region.  Arrive in Bologna, the capital and largest city of the Emilia-Romagna Region, famous for its culinary culture with the famous “Bolognese ragù”, Tortellini, Tagliatelle and many other local specialities.  A walking tour in the city centre will give you the opportunity to see the 2 Towers, Piazza Maggiore and St. Stephen Basilica, ending at the local market where you will have the opportunity to taste some local products and have lunch on your own.  Continue your journey to the Tuscan region.  Arrive at the hotel in the Chianti region for dinner.  Accommodation: HOTEL BORGO DI CORTEFREDA or similar (3 nights). 

Day 12 – Monday / September 28, 2020               TUSCANY – FLORENCE, ITALY                                                      (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.  After breakfast, depart to Florence city centre where you will meet your local guide. Enjoy a walking tour of the city , including the Ponte Vecchio and the wonders of the architecture of Brunelleschi’s Dome which overlooks the Baptistery golden ‘Gates of Paradise’and the Piazza della Signoria. Lunch at a local restaurant, then enjoy a guided tour of the Accademia Gallery and admire the masterpiece of Michelangelo “the David”.  Return to the hotel.

Day 13 – Tuesday / September 29, 2020               TUSCANY – SAN GIMIGNANO – VOLTERRA, ITALY              (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.  Depart to San Gimignano, a magnificent example of a medieval urban town; in fact it is a UNESCO world heritage site.  Here you will have free time to visit the village and its splendid squares, palaces, churches and the magnificent towers.  Stop for lunch in one of the most beautiful vineyards of the area, right close to San Gimignano, where you will also have the chance to visit the cellars and have lunch in the wineyard (weather permitting).  Continue to Volterra together with San Gimignano are the cities of stones.  Their narrow streets, looming towers, and majestic palaces and fortifications are made of stone.  It is famous as a centre of alabaster working, a craft which was revived in the 19th century and in recent years, Volterra has attracted international attention for its connection to the famous Twilight series of books and movies. Return to the hotel, free time for dinner on your own.

Day 14 – Wednesday / September 30, 2020        TUSCANY – CORTONA – UMBRIA, ITALY                                 (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. Depart to the Umbria region with a stop in Cortona, the main cultural and artistic centre of the Val di Chiana. Enjoy a morning walking tour through the steep narrow streets situated on a hillside that embraces a view of the whole Valdichiana. From the Piazza Garibaldi you can admire a fine view of Lake Trasimeno.  Continue to Perugia and check-in to the hotel with dinner to follow.  Accommodation: HOTEL SANGALLO PALACE or similar (3 nights).

Day 15 – Thursday / October 1, 2020                      UMBRIA – SPOLETO, ITALY                                                           (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.  Depart for the ancient city of Spoleto for a morning tour with your tour guide: see the Roman Theatre and amphitheatre, Ponte delle Torri, Palazzo della Signoria and the majestic Palazzo Vigili.  After some free time for lunch on your own, return to the hotel for dinner. 

Day 16 – Friday / October 2, 2020                            UMBRIA – ASSISI, ITALY                                                                 (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.  After breakfast, depart to Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan religious order in the town in 1208. Visit to the St Francis Basilica, Temple of Minerva, Church of St Peter and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli (St. Mary of the Angels), which houses the Porziuncola.  Free time for lunch on your own.  Return to the hotel for dinner. 

Day 17 – Saturday / October 3, 2020                      UMBRIA – ORVIETO – ROME, ITALY                                          (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out.  Start your journey to Lazio region.  A scenic two-hour drive will take you to Orvieto, a town perched high atop a hill.  Orvieto is impressively situated above a volcanic plug, which is a volcanic landform created when magma hardens within a vent on an active volcano.  Upon arrival, you will visit the stunning Cathedral, which was built in the fourteenth century.  Free time for lunch on your own.  After take a short 30-minute drive to Civita di Bagnoregio, a small ancient village that clings to the precipice of the steep hill it sits on.  A small island in an eerie sea of uninhabitable landscape makes up the surrounding valleys. For this reason views of Civita di Bagnoregio from across the valley are incredibly picturesque.  This is also one of the most popular villages featured in post cards from Italy.  Civita is a traffic-free community,  and can be reached only by a footbridge suspended in the air.  Perhaps for this reason, and its complete isolation from the real world, only about 20 people live here year around.  Continue to Rome and check-in at your hotel.  Dinner at a restaurant nearby the hotel.  Accommodation: HOTEL DELLA CONCILIAZONE or similar (2 nights). 

Day 18 – Sunday / October 4, 2020                          ROME, ITALY                                                                                      (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.   After breakfast, meet our guide and transfer to the Vatican for a visit to the Museum to enjoy one of the  most important art collections in the world, the Sistine Chapel and the masterpieces of St. Peter’s Basilica.  Discover the Ancient Rome and some of the most visited places in the world:  The Colosseum, Roman forum and Palatine Hill.  Lunch and afternoon is on your own.  Tonight we meet together for our farwell dinner.

Day 19 – Monday / October 5, 2020                        ROME – CANADA                                                                             (B)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out.  Transfer by a private coach to the airport for your Air Canada flight.
