Welcome to Rome! Once landed at Fiumicino airport you’ll meet your local guide and private coach and start a panoramic tour of Rome city centre: the Lungotevere, Terme di Caracalla, the Pyramide Caio Cestio, San Giovanni, Circo Massimo, Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore and St John’s Church. Stop for a short walking tour to take some pictures at famous Piazza di Spagna. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a transfer to the hotel and check-in. Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide and transfer to the Vatican for a visit to the museum to enjoy one of the most important art collections in the world, the Sistine Chapel and the masterpieces of St. Peter’s Basilica. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will discover the Ancient Rome and one of the most visited places in the world: The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Return to the hotel, and a free evening for dinner on your own.
Day 4 – Saturday / May 16, 2020 ROME – ORVIETO – UMBRIA, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. Start your journey to Umbria. A scenic two-hour drive will take you to Orvieto, a town perched high atop a hill. Orvieto is impressively situated above a volcanic plug, which is a volcanic landform created when magma hardens within a vent on an active volcano. Upon arrival, you will visit the stunning Cathedral, which was built in the fourteenth century. Free time for lunch on your own. After take a short 30-minute drive to Civita di Bagnoregio, a small ancient village that clings to the precipice of the steep hill. It sits on, a small island in an eerie sea of uninhabitable landscape that makes up the surrounding valleys. For this reason views of Civita di Bagnoregio from across the valley are incredibly picturesque. This is also one of the most popular villages featured in post cards from Italy. Civita is a traffic-free community, and can be reached only by a footbridge suspended in the air. Perhaps for this reason, and its complete isolation from the real world, only about 20 people live here year round. Continue to Perugia and check-in at the hotel and dinner. Day 5 – Sunday / May 17, 2020 UMBRIA – SPOLETO – PERUGIA, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the ancient city of Spoleto for a morning tour with your tour escort: see the Roman theatre and amphitheatre, Ponte delle Torri, Palazzo della Signoria and the majestic Palazzo Vigili. After some free time for lunch on your own, return to Perugia for a guided tour of the city centre: The S. Lorenzo Cathedral, Maggiore fountain, Rocca Paolina and, time permitting, the Chocolate House of famous “Perugina” factory. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6 – Monday / May 18, 2020 UMBRIA – ASSISI – UMBRIA, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis, who founded the Franciscan religious order in the town in 1208. Visit to the St Francis Basilica, Temple of Minerva, Church of St Peter and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli (St. Mary of the Angels), which houses the Porziuncola. Free time for lunch and afternoon on your own. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 7 – Tuesday / May 19, 2020 UMBRIA – CORTONA – SIENA – TUSCANY, ITALY (B/L)Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check out. Depart to Tuscany with a stop in Cortona, the main cultural and artistic centre of the Val di Chiana. Enjoy a morning walking tour through the steep narrow streets situated on a hillside that embraces a view of the whole Valdichiana. From the Piazza Garibaldi, you can admire a fine prospect of Lake Trasimeno. Stop at a local wine estate for a visit to the cellar and a tasting of different wines and local products, ending with a typical lunch. Continue to Siena where you will admire the magnificent Cathedral and the Town Hall in the Piazza del Campo, scene of the world famous Palio horse race. Check-in at the hotel in the Chianti area. Enjoy a walking tour of the city , including the Ponte Vecchio and the wonders of the architecture of Brunelleschi’s Dome which overlooks the Baptistery golden ‘Gates of Paradise’and the Piazza della Signoria. Lunch at a local restaurant, then enjoy a guided tour of the Accademia Gallery and admire the masterpiece of Michelangelo “the David”. Tonight dinner is on your own.
Day 9 – Thursday / May 21, 2020 SAN GIMIGNANO – VOLTERRA, TUSCANY, ITALY (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to San Gimignano, a magnificent example of a Medieval urban town; in fact it is a UNESCO world heritage site. Here you will have free time to visit the village and its splendid squares, palaces, churches and the magnificent towers. Enjoy lunch in one of the most beautiful vineyards of the area, right close to San Gimignano, where you will also have the chance to visit the cellars and have lunch in the wineyard (weather permitting). Continue to Volterra, that, together with San Gimignano are the cities of stones. Their narrow streets, looming towers, and majestic palaces and fortifications are made of stone. It is famous as a centre of alabaster working, a craft which was revived in the 19th century and in recent years, Volterra has attracted international attention for its connection to the famous Twilight series of books and movies. Return to the hotel, free time for dinner on your own.
Day 10 – Friday / May 22, 2020 TUSCANY – BOLOGNA – VENICE, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. Start your journey to the Emilia Romagna region. Arrive in Bologna, the capital and largest city of the Emilia-Romagna Region, famous for its culinary culture with the famous “Bolognese ragù”, Tortellini, Tagliatelle and many other local specialities. A walking tour in the city centre will give the opportunity to see the 2 Towers, Piazza Maggiore and St. Stephen Basilica, ending at the local market where you will have the opportunity to taste some local products and have lunch on your own. Continue your journey to Venice. Once there, say goodbye to your driver and tour escort, meet your local assistant and enjoy the boat ride to your hotel on Venice Island. Day 11 – Saturday / May 23, 2020 VENICE, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. This morning enjoy a walking tour of Venice. Visit the landmarks and historical sites of the city centre (exteriors only): St. Mark’s Square and its monuments, S. Maria Formosa, the Church and Campo of S.S. Giovannie Paolo, Marco Polo’s house, Teatro Malibran, and the famous Mercerie. Free time for lunch on your own. In the afternoon you will be assisted to the embarkation point for your 30 minutes gondola ride. Take a gondola ride along the most suggestive canals of Venice and part of the Grand Canal to discover its charming aspects. In the evening, have dinner at a restaurant nearby the hotel.
Day 12 – Sunday / May 24, 2020 VENICE – EMBARKATION (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check-out. In the morning, enjoy a unique experience which will lead you to the historic, artistic and popular heart of the northern part of the Venetian Lagoon. From the boat you can take some breathtaking pictures of the Lagoon and its several islands. You will visit MURANO and BURANO, which are the traditional destinations among the islands. Return to Venice Island and then transfer to the pier to embark on you cruise aboard the Norwegian Dawn, your home away from home for next 8 days while exploring the beautiful Adriatic coast and the Greek Isles.
Day 13 – Monday / May 25, 2020 KOTOR, MONTENEGRO (B/L/D)
Tucked away between the mountains and the Bay of Kotor, one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea, is where you’ll find the picturesque town of Kotor. As you arrive at this secluded city, you’ll notice the dramatic 65-foot high protective walls, which date back to the Venetian period during the 9th century. Stroll the labyrinth of cobbled streets with cozy cafes and craft shops as you marvel at the graceful old buildings. Listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Historical Heritage Site, Kotor is also world-famous as a premier yachting and sailing destination.
Day 14 – Tuesday / May 26, 2020 CORFU, GREECE (B/L/D)
One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.
Day 15 – Wednesday / May 27, 2020 SANTORINI, GREECE (B/L/D)
Whitewashed villages clinging to the sides of the sea cliffs have made the volcanic island of Santorini one of the most widely photographed places in the world. The island’s charm and subtle mystery have even made it a target of speculation as the location of the lost city of Atlantis.
Day 16 – Thursday / May 28, 2020 MYKONOS, GREECE (B/L/D)
Mykonos is a classic Greek Island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and windmills. Add a reputation for beautiful beaches and you’ll understand why Mykonos is the most popular island in the Cyclades. Explore the island in a 4 x 4 or take a ferry to the tiny island of Delos.
Day 17 – Friday / May 29, 2020 ARGOSTOLI, KEFALONIA, GREECE (B/L/D)
Looking at picturesque Argostoli, you wouldn’t know it suffered a devastating earthquake in 1953. The city and its surrounding area are full of treasures, including a 12th-century Byzantine cathedral and beautiful 16th century frescoes. The nearby underground Lake of Melissani is simply magical. Enter the caves to find ancient stalactites, and marvel at the scattered rays of light beaming through, turning the water an intense blue.
Day 18 – Saturday / May 30, 2020 DUBROVNIK, CROATIA (B/L/D)
Despite the magnificent 13th century walls that surround the city, Dubrovnik is one of the most welcoming cruise destinations in all of Europe. Dubbed “the pearl of the Adriatic” by the poet, Lord Byron, this Croatian city exudes romantic charm and beautiful scenery with its shimmering marble streets, centuries-old buildings capped by bright orange roofs, and lovely beaches ensconced between awesome rocky ledges
Day 19 – Sunday / May 31, 2020 VENICE – VERONA – LAKE MAGGIORE, ITALY (B/L)
Breakfast on board, followed by disembarkation and departure to the Lombardia Region. Stop in Verona for a visit to this fascinating city, famous for the Juliet & Romeo love story and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit the Arena, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans (outside) and then walk through its city centre to see Juliet’s balcony and the Piazza delle Erbe. After our lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll proceed on your journey to Stresa, on Lake Maggiore. Check-in at the hotel, free time for dinner. Accommodation: HOTEL TERMINUS or similar (2 nights).
Day 20 – Monday / June 1, 2020 LAKE MAGGIORE, ITALY (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, meet our local guide and walk to the embarkation point for the boat tour of the 3 Borromean Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola Pescatori. On the Isola Bella you will visit the Palace, its Italianate garden, and a small fishing village. Isola Madre, the largest island of the Isole Borromee archipelago, is occupied by a number of buildings and architectural structures and is especially well known for its gardens. There you will see the Palazzo Borromeo, surrounded by impressive gardens, the Giardini Botanici dell’Isola Madre, covering an area of eight hectares in the English style. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant on Isola dei Pescatori and return to the hotel in Stresa. Free time and dinner is on your own.
Day 21 – Tuesday / June 2, 2020 LAKE COMO, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the hotel on Lake Como. After check-in to the hotel, rest of the day is at your leisure. Tonight dinner will be served at the hotel. HOTEL REGINA PALACE or similar (2 nights).
Day 22 – Wednesday / June 3, 2020 LAKE COMO, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet our guide and leave for Tremezzo, on Lake Como, for a visit to Villa Carlotta and its botanical gardens, with its museum, whose art collection includes works by Canova, Thorvaldsen, Migliara and Hayez in addition to pieces of furniture from the time of the various owners. After, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant boat tour on the lake and reach Bellagio, the pearl of the lake, famous worldwide for its beautiful villas overlooking the water (like Villa Serbelloni or Villa Melzi). A walking tour to the old centre with the tiny streets and the main road, Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, gets you to Punta Spartivento (top of the village) in less than 10 minutes. Via Giuseppe Garibaldi is populated by dozens of shops where visitors can find local food, leather goods, clothing and perfumes. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 24 – Friday / June 5, 2020 MILAN, ITALY (B/D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Join our local guide for a walking tour of the city centre: the Duomo (inside) and its Piazza, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and the Santa Maria delle Grazie Sanctuary with its famous Last Supper painting. View from the outside Navigli, Pinacoteca di Brera and La Scala theatre. Return to the hotel with some free time. Tonight we gather for our farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 25 – Saturday / June 6, 2020 MILAN – CANADA (B)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. Transfer by coach to the airport for your Air Canada homebound flight.
